Alejandro Gutierrez brings an operator's perspective to strategy: direct experience leading organizations, managing public and philanthropic investment, building partnerships, designing systems, and creating ventures from the ground up.

Alejandro Gutierrez
A strategist, executive, and entrepreneur.
Alejandro created Emergent Strategy Consulting for leaders who know what they want to build and need a clearer path through the complexity surrounding it.
As Executive Director of the Arts Council of San Bernardino County, he leads regional work spanning strategy, operations, partnerships, programs, advocacy, public investment, and organizational growth. His leadership includes oversight of San Bernardino County’s grantee portfolio within Creative Corps Inland SoCal, a $4.75 million regional initiative, and evaluation across 56 funded organizations.
Before joining the Arts Council of San Bernardino County, Alejandro oversaw evaluation across a program portfolio budgeted at $20 million at First 5 San Bernardino, directed strategic partnerships and a countywide home-visiting initiative at El Sol, and co-founded Lifting Our Stories, a youth-development nonprofit. He began his career in the classroom through Teach For America.
Across those roles, he has learned that sound strategy depends on judgment, context, implementation, and the people responsible for carrying the work forward.
